5. Freedom Run

Montessarat in the Caribbean Sea celebrates St. Patrick’s Day on the national level. March 17th corresponds with the date of a slave uprising here in 1768. In remembrance of the rich Irish/African heritage of many of the residents, this town celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with an annual freedom run.
