Florida boasts approximately 1,200 miles of coastline, so it’s not surprising that this state has some of the best beaches in the world. It’s also not surprising that many of them can be found on your typical best beaches in the world lists — you know, the ones that rave about pretty little slices of sandy Nirvana. The following list is a little different, however. It is a celebration of beaches that are distinctive for features other than just their beauty.

1. Best Beach – Haulover Beach

Do you hate getting sand in your bathing suit? Then ditch the swimwear and head over to Haulover Beach, which is considered to be one of the best clothing-optional beaches in the world. Be forewarned, though. You probably won’t be alone. This beach, which is located just north of Miami Beach, typically attracts thousands of people on a beautiful, sunny day.
