When we think of Amsterdam, it’s almost impossible to not think of pot smokers. Due to the plant’s legal presence in the city, it’s only expected one would find a lot of pot tourism. And that’s fine, but it’s not the only reason to visit the city. Here are 18 reasons things to do in Amsterdam that aren’t smoking pot.

1. Rock Out the Rijksmuseum

Of more than 50 museums, Rijksmuseum ranks at the top of the pack as the most visited museum of all the Netherlands with 2.2 million visitors in 2013. Vermeer, Rembrandt and other Dutch masters of the 15th to 17th centuries adorn the walls of this newly renovated assemblage of national artifacts. It took 10 years and Ä 375 million (approximately $512 million US) to bring the museum founded in 1800 up to snuff for the 21st century. Don’t miss one of the world’s most famous works of art, Rembrandt’s The Night Watch.
