4. Catch a Show at the Concertgebouw

Free is good, but a free concert at the Concertgebouw is great. Go on a Wednesday afternoon for a lunch concert starting at 12:30 pm from September to June for the free show. Home to the world’s best symphony, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Concertgebouw sees a respectable 850,000 visitors at more than 800 concerts every year. It’s little wonder why the Concertgebouw, erected in 1888, is the second busiest concert venue in the world. July and August, that’s when the concerts are cheap thanks to the Robeco Summer Concerts’ series. Otherwise, expect to pay anywhere from five to 100 euros for a seat.
