10. The Canals are Calling

OK, so Amsterdam has some rather lovely canals. In fact, these canals are so beloved that they were declared a UNESCO monument. These waterways are more than lovely, though, as they were the main source of transport and defense for one of the richest cities in the world in the 17th century. Take a boat ride, or at the very least, sit and people-watch.
