2. Party Animals

Residents of O’Neill, Nebraska’s Irish Capital, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with such craziness as reading aloud from the Dr. Suess book, “Green Eggs and Ham” and taking in the demonstrations of a local hypnotist. There’s also a city-wide garage sale and a fun run. This city also lays claim to the world’s largest shamrock, which is painted on the street at an intersection. Nobody parties like a Nebraskan. We’re thinking maybe that’s not such a bad thing.
