4. Their Costume Parties Are Legendary

One of the most important and beautiful events of the festival, the “Ofrenda de Flores a la Virgen de los Desamparados,” takes place on March 17th and 18th. The ceremony features thousands of people dressed in traditional costumes dancing to local bands as they make their way to the Plaza de la Virgen. Once they arrive they offer bouquets to the image of their city’s patron Virgin.
