Since the barrier islands of the Carolinas absorb nutrients coming out from the swamps and in from the ocean, they’re a perfect place for fish to grow large and fat. Fishermen know to go to Fripp Island to catch 12-foot marlin…or a 12-foot lemon shark. Swimmers should take note of the latter.
