Ever since the 1930s, the Chateau Marmont has been the hangout of scandalous celebrities ranging from Howard Hughes spying on bikini-wearing women to James Dean who power-drived a window in the hotel. Jim Morrison of The Doors injured his back after swinging like a monkey from the hotel roof.
